Chief Complaint
Tooth #31: Fractured, retained, and impacted root with severe tenderness to percussion.
Clinical Findings
Severe tenderness to percussion (TTP) noted.
Mobility and probing depth within normal limits.
Treatment Plan
Local anesthesia (LA) and surgical removal of impacted and retained roots of #31.
Pre-operative Assessment
Pre-operative CBCT performed.
Risks and procedures explained to the patient.
Patient understood and agreed to proceed.
Informed consent obtained.
Anesthesia
Local anesthesia administered for tooth #31.
Surgical Procedure
1. Incision made, and buccal flap raised.
2. Bone guttering performed.
3. Tooth sectioned and elevated in two pieces.
4. Curettage and irrigation with saline.
5. Bone grafting material (BSS x 03) placed for closure.
6. Haemostasis achieved, and post-operative instructions provided.
