Chief Complaint
The patient has been referred for dental clearance prior to starting Bisphosphonate therapy.
The patient has multiple missing teeth and retained roots and is not interested in crowns or occlusion adjustments.
Clinical Findings
Missing teeth: #11, #12, #13, #18, #21, #22, #28, #35, #36, #37, #38, #47, #48
Retained roots: #14, #25
Teeth requiring crowning: #31, #41
Supra erupted and non-functional teeth: #27, #17, with traumatic light contacts with the lower residual ridge.
Treatment Plan
LA OP removal of retained roots #14 and #25, and XAP of teeth #27 and #17.
SAP and C/UP.
Crowning of teeth #41 and #31, or CAP of #31 (mesial) and #41 (mesial).
CAP for:
- #24 (distal)
- #26 (occlusal part)
- #27 (occlusal part)
- #31 (mesial)
- #41 (mesial)
- #44 (buccal part, occlusal)
Maintenance and Recall.
Pre-operative Assessment
Pre-operative CBCT was taken.
The patient agreed to start with the LA OP removal of retained roots #14 and XAP of #17.
Quotation provided.
Anesthesia
Local anesthesia block was administered to the affected area.
Surgical Procedure
The patient was cleaned and draped.
An incision was made, and a buccal flap was raised.
Bone guttering and tooth sectioning were performed.
Tooth #14 was elevated in 02 pieces.
Curettage and irrigation with saline were completed.
BSS x 04 was placed for primary closure.
Haemostasis achieved.

Post-operative Assessment
Post-operative CBCT was taken.
No tooth remnants were noted. The maxillary sinus was intact and not involved in the surgery.
The patient was reassured.
