Clinical Findings

  • Teeth #11 and #13: Fractured with retained roots

  • Temporary denture replacing teeth #11, #12, and #13 without clasps, done at a previous clinic

Treatment Plan

  • Removal of retained roots in teeth #11 and #13 under local anesthesia

  • Discussion of replacement options, procedures, risks, and treatment timeline for future implant placement

  • Patient agreed to proceed with the removal of retained roots

  • Pre-operative CBCT taken

  • Risks and procedures explained, with informed consent obtained

Anesthesia

Local anesthesia infiltration around teeth #11 and #13


Surgical Procedure

  1. Patient prepared with standard cleaning and draping

  2. Incision made and buccal flap raised

  3. Bone guttering performed

  4. Retained roots of teeth #11 and #13 removed entirely

  5. Curettage and irrigation with saline

  6. BSS x 06 placed for secondary closure

  7. Hemostasis achieved
