Surgical Removal
Extraction, Impacted Wisdom Tooth

Chief Complaint
The patient presents with pain and swelling from a completely buried and impacted tooth #38. The patient requested removal of the tooth.
Clinical Findings
Tooth #38 is fully impacted in bone. The patient has pain and swelling in the area.
Treatment Plan
LA OP removal of tooth #38.
LA XAP of tooth #28.
Pre-operative Assessment
Pre-operative CBCT was reviewed.
Risks of paraesthesia to the lower lip and tongue, as well as OAP/OAF, were discussed.
The procedures were explained in detail, and informed consent was obtained.
Anesthesia
Local anesthesia block was administered to the right IDN, LN, and LBN.
Local anesthesia infiltration was performed for #28.
Surgical Procedure
The patient was cleaned and draped.
An incision was made, and a buccal flap was raised.
Bone guttering and tooth sectioning were carried out.
Tooth #38 was elevated in 14 pieces.
The area was curetted and irrigated with saline.
BSS x 04 was placed for primary closure.
Haemostasis was achieved.
