Implant Exposure and Healing Abutment Placement
Chief Complaint
N/A (Procedure for implant exposure and abutment change)
Clinical Findings
Implant at site #46 exposed.
Inadequate buccal soft tissue coverage.
Treatment Plan
Expose implant at #46, adjust soft tissue, and change cover screw to a healing abutment.
Pre-operative Assessment
Patient assessed for soft tissue augmentation and implant site evaluation.
Anesthesia
Local anesthesia administered.
Surgical Procedure
An incision was made at the lingual border of the #46 implant.
An envelope flap was raised and shifted buccally to improve buccal soft tissue coverage.
The existing cover screw was replaced with a 5.5mm U/S healing abutment.
Bone graft material was placed around the #46 implant to support bone regeneration.
Jason Membrane was used for guided bone regeneration (GBR).
Four BSS sutures were placed to achieve primary closure.
Post-operative Assessment
A post-operative CBCT scan was taken to confirm the position and alignment of the implant and healing abutment.
