Pre-operative Assessment

  1. CBCT reviewed prior to surgery.
    Implant angulation, positioning, and surrounding bone support assessed.

Risks including infection, implant failure, swelling, bleeding, graft failure, recession, aesthetic limitations, and post-operative discomfort discussed.
Px understood and agreed to proceed.
Informed consent obtained for implant placement and bone grafting at #21 site.

Anesthesia

Local anesthesia administered to surgical site.

Surgical Procedure

Px cleaned and draped in sterile manner.

Incision made and buccal flap raised.
Implant osteotomy site prepared using implant drills and osteotomes.

Implant prepped with Megagen Plasma treatment prior to placement.

3.3mm x 11.5mm Megagen Anyone Mini Implant placed at #21 site.

EZ post abutment MIEP3547H connected to #21 implant.

Bone grafting performed using Dentium Osteon Collagen II artificial bone grafting material.

Flap released for tension-free closure.
BSS x7 placed for primary closure.
Haemostasis achieved.
POI given.

Abutment temporised with temporary crown.
Temporary crown cemented using temporary bonding cement.

Post-operative Assessment

Post-operative CBCT taken.
Implant alignment and positioning satisfactory.
Bone graft adaptation dense and stable.
Px tolerated procedure well and left clinic in stable condition.
