Alternatives for replacing tooth #36 were discussed.
Patient decided on implant placement for the missing tooth #36.
Informed consent for implant placement at the #36 site was obtained.
Pre-operative Assessment
Pre-operative CBCT taken, with the inferior dental nerve (IDN) plotted.
Anesthesia
Local anesthesia block administered to the left inferior dental nerve (IDN), lingual nerve (LN), and long buccal nerve (LBN).
Surgical Procedure
Patient cleaned and draped.
Incision made, and buccal and lingual flaps raised.
Remnant of tooth #37 removed.
Implant sites prepared.
Autogenous bone harvested from the implant site preparation.
A 4.0mm x 8.0mm Dentium Superline II implant placed.
A 9.5mm (M) healing abutment placed.
Buccal bony deficiency grafted with autogenous bone chips and overlaid with artificial bone graft material using Ethoss 1.0cc.
Five black silk sutures (BSS) placed for primary closure.
Hemostasis achieved, post-operative instructions (POI) given.
